Progress Plus has a dedicated clocking client for the Time & Attendance (T&A) module. This client allows employees to clock in and out only, with the details being fed back into the system to create T&A records for the employees' times, attendance and payroll. This client does the same as the CLOCK option in SFDC, but some users prefer to have the clocking in/out done separately via a standalone client, often located at an employee entrance. The client can also be set up to auto-login and auto-start on the client if its preferred.
The clocking client uses the same installation as all Progress Plus clients, but is accessed via a specific login name - TANDA (no password). The client can be set up to automatically login to the clocking client using the shortcut parameter "/TANDA" as part of the TARGET field (as shown below).
The user can configure the clients to open up in a small window (login: TANDA.SMALL) or full screen (login: TANDA.FULL) using the shortcut parameters (as shown below) otherwise, the client will open the clocking client in the system default mode as set in the system settings (Admin > Options > SFDC).
When the clocking client is started, the employees will be presented with a blank clocking screen. Employees then use their employee badges to clock in and out as required.
(Initial clocking screen)
When an employee, who is not currently clocked in, scans their employee badge, the system will register them as clocked in.
When an employee, who is currently clocked in, scans their employee badge, the system will register them as clocked out.
Once an employee has clocked out, the system records a completed T&A record for the employee, date and times they were clocked in. This will be visible in the T&A section of the main system.
Employees can clock in/out multiple times per day if required, with a record being generated in the T&A section for each clocked-in period.
