This option presents the user with a list of all work order operations that are incomplete, allowing the user to generate a list of operations for each work centre in the order they are to be done, based on a defined sequencing set in the Admin section of Progress.
The default sequence the operations are listed is set in the Admin section of Progress, under the Labour options section.
This allows the user to set the sequencing of the operations on both the main Work To List screen (shown above) and also the Work To List option contained in the SFDC module. For more information on the sequencing of the Work To List data, please refer to the Admin > Options section of the manual.
The Work To List screen provides the user with a standard set of grid filters at the top of the screen that can be used to filter the list of WO operations shown. The user can filter by a variety of information, including associated WO user defined fields, as well as on both WO and WO operation dates. If the WO has any date-based user defined fields, there will also be listed with the date filters.
The main grid displayed shows all the outstanding WO operations along with their associated information.
Although the default sequencing set in the Admin section of Progress will be applied when the screen is loaded, the user can sort by any column they wish by clicking on the column heading.
(Work To List SFL and Op Status indicators)
The first column, SFL, has a coloured indicator to indicate the WO operations' Shop Floor Loading (SFL) status. This is the same colour coding using within the SFL tool to indicate status of work orders scheduled.
Red - This is used to highlight any WO whose scheduled finish date is after the planned due date of the WO and is out with the "amber" date range indicated below.
Amber - This is used to highlight any WO whose scheduled finish date falls within the range of days before and after the planned due date of the WO.
Green - This is used to highlight any WO whose scheduled finish date is on or before the planned due date of the WO
Blue - This is used to highlight any WO whose scheduled finish date is earlier than the planned due date of the WO but is also by more than the specified number of days.
Configuration of the "amber" and "blue" ranges is done within the SFL options (shown below). For more information on these, please refer to the SFL section of the manual.
The second column, WIP, has a coloured indicator to indicate the operation's current status. The colour coding used is as follows:
Green - Operation is currently jobbed onto by an employee
Amber - Operation has had a previous booking
Red - Operation's planned finish date < Current Date (i.e. its overdue)
<Blank> - Operation has no bookings recorded against it
Summary information for all the listed WO operations is also provided at the bottom of the screen. This provides the user with a total for planned, booked and outstanding planned time for all WO operations listed. If any filters are applied, these summary totals will be updated accordingly.
These are defined as follows:
Time Planned: This is the sum of the WO Op Setup time and the WO Op Total Run Time across all listed WO operations.
Time Booked: This is the sum of the booked setup and run time times across all listed WO operations.
Time O/S: This is the difference between the Time Planned and Timed Booked totals.
NOTE: Where the time booked against an individual operation is greater than the the planned time, the time o/s is set to zero. As a result of this, the Time O/S may not be exactly the difference between the Total Planned and Total Booked values.
This option opens the WO routing screen for the WO highlighted in the main grid. From here the user can edit the operation(s) if required or can simply see the details of the associated WO.
NOTE: Applying changes to the WO routings may be restricted if the WO is already scheduled in the SFL tool and editing restrictions are in place. For more information on these restrictions, please refer to the SFL section of the manual. For more information on viewing or editing work orders, please refer to the Work Order section of the manual.
This option updates the WO operations listed on the main grid based on the grid filters and/or additional options applied. Summary totals will also be updated accordingly.
This option generates the standard Work To List report. This report groups all the WO operations listed in the main grid by work centre, effectively providing a list of WO operations that have to be carried out at the work centres in the correct sequence they have to be done based on the sort sequence of the Work To List. The user has a couple of print options they can specify.
Simply clicking the PRINT option will generate the standard Work To List report. This standard version includes the operation instructions set in the WO operation itself and also separates the listings for each work centre onto separate pages.
Hide Op Instructions
Clicking this option will generate the standard Work To List report but will remove the operation instructions. This option also keeps the individual work centre lists to separate pages.
No Page Breaks
Clicking this option will generate the standard Work To List report but keeps all the work centres together (i.e. no page breaks). This option also includes the operation instructions.
This option lets the user export out the current Work To List data to an Excel spreadsheet where it can be analysed further offline. When this option is clicked, the system will prompt the user to specify a file name and save location to create the spreadsheet, before opening the spreadsheet for the user to view. An example export file is shown below.
In addition to the main grid filters available at the top of the screen, the user also has options at the bottom of the screen to further filter the listed WO operations based on specific criteria.
Clicking the OPTIONS button presents the user with a selection of additional filters that can be applied to the Work To List.
These options are as follows:
Ops Ready To Start (Previous Op Complete)
This option filters the list of WO operations to only those where the previous operation has a quantity booked against it. This is useful for operations where the next operation can ONLY start once the previous operation has been completed.
Ops Ready To Start (Prev Op Qty Bkd)
This option filters the list of WO operations to only those where the previous operation has a quantity booked against it. This is useful for operations where the next operation can start once a unit has been through the previous operation.
Earliest Next Available
This option filters the list of WO operations for the first WO operation of each WO which has not yet been marked as complete.
Overbooked, Incomplete Ops
This option includes all incomplete WO operations where the actual time recorded so far exceeds the planned time, but the operation has not been marked as complete.
Inc. Ops with 0 Planned Time
This option will include any outstanding WO operation where no planned time has been specified.
Include Total Quantity Received
This option includes any WO operation from a WO that has been fully received (i.e. WO is at Total Qty Received status) but which has not yet been marked as complete.
Sched. Ops Only
This option filters the list of WO operations to only those from work orders currently loaded into the SFL scheduling tool.
Hide WO with O/S Required Material
This option filters out any work orders which have BOM items that are marked as REQUIRED TO START JOB where the part has not been issued to the work order.
If any of these options are applied (or removed) the user must click ACCEPT to save the selected filters, and then the REFRESH option at the top of the screen to update the list of WO operations shown based on the updated filters.
