This option permits users to manually backup Progress Plus databases. This option must be used with caution. It is not recommended that the settings within this form are amended by the user unless otherwise advised by a member of the Progress Plus support team.
Backup History
The Backup History tab will display a list of available SQL databases. Databases highlighted in red were last backed-up more than 3 days ago. Clicking on the required database will display the history of backups performed.
Backup
This tab permits the user to select the database to be backed up. The user can then specify the location for the backup to be stored. This Backup Folder must be located on the server where the SQL server software is running. This is usually the company’s main server.
Clicking onto the Backup button will start the SQL backup. Please note for users with a large amount of data this can take a few minutes to perform.
On completion of the backup the user will see a message similar to that displayed above.
Copy Live Over Play
This option allows Progress Plus employees to copy the data from one database to another. Most commonly used when copying live data to the play database top allow customers to try options and processes using real time data. This option is restricted to Progress Plus employees only.
